What is the
Essence Music Festival?
The Essence Music Festival is the leading African-American gathering in the state. Every year the event welcomes lots of thousands of admirers for a celebration of African-American music & culture. The 3 day event saw its' main spectators in 2010, when crowds totally sold out the Louisiana Superdome, with over 72,000 attendees on the 15th year anniversary of the festival.
Who attends the
Festival?
People from all around the United States, north, south, east, & west are present at the festival every year. There are as well hundreds if not thousands of worldwide attendees as well. The mass is majority African-American, however people of all races are welcome & do attend the festival.
When is the
Festival held?
The Essence Music Festival is held every year on the first Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in July.
